Burying Hill Beach

is the Quiet Beach in Westport CT

Located on Beachside Avenue, Burying Hill Beach is known for it's tranquility.

Most families with young children flock to Compo Beach - because of the playground and all of the other activities it has to offer.

In stark contrast, those seeking a quiet and peaceful afternoon will head over to Burying Hill. With not quite as much to do - it is easy to spend time here reading, reflecting, or skipping stones.

The shoreline is a bit more rocky but equally beautiful. Nature lovers are also drawn to this stretch of sand - as the tide pools are large and filled with sealife.

This happens to be one of my favorite spots in Town and one of Westport's best kept secrets.

On a recent visit, my family and I saw this swan take flight as it seemingly walked on water - spreading out it's massive wingspan.

This spot is also perfect for a picnic and for all typical beach activities like building sand castles and exploring. It is important to note that NO lifeguards are on duty here - so keeping a sharp eye on small children is a must.
